It's not a secret anymore. Patrik Allvin has actively shopped Conor Garland, and the winger has now expressed his wish to be shipped out of Vancouver. The market is what it is unless the Canucks retain a hefty salary or acquire another bulky salaried player.

DEAL BREWING WITH THE BLUES? TRADE PROPOSAL EMERGES

A trade proposal emerged suggesting that the Canucks and the Blues could meet and get a six pieces deal done:

TO ST. LOUIS

- Conor Garland
(3 years at $4.95M)

- Anthony Beauvilier
(1 year at $4.15M)

- Christian Wolanin
(2 years at $0.775M)

TO VANCOUVER

- Colton Parayko (15% Cap Hit)
(7 years at $5.25M)

- Jakub Vrana
(1 year at $2.625M)

- 2nd Round Selection Toronto 2024

Colton Parayko, a proven top-four defenseman and Stanley Cup winner could be a great addition to the Canucks' defensive core. However, the fact that the 30-year-old still has seven years on his contract could be concerning. Vrana, a former first-rounder who's proven to be a goal scorer, could address the lack of scoring on the team's bottom 6.

On the Canucks end, they'd be trading away two wingers, which would probably give a proper opportunity to Nils Hoglander, who's done quite well since the season started with 4 points in 7 games.

While this deal may look good on the surface, for this year, it may not look as good in years to come. Is Parayko the type of defenceman who ages well and who's play doesn't regress? Is this deal worth the risk?
