We're just a few days away from the NHL's trade deadline, and the talks have heated up everywhere around the NHL. Per many insider reports, it should be expected that the Canucks will be very active in the incoming days, but so will every other contending team.

It was just reported that Ilya Lyubushkin, one of the deadline's most touted trade targets year after year, has been taken out of the Ducks' lineup at the very last minute pending a trade announcement:

Ilya Lyubushkin was pulled from the Ducks lineup tonight as Anaheim was involved in trade talks. Hearing the Maple Leafs, one of the teams in those talks with the Ducks.

Darren Dreger not only confirmed the information but also added that the Hurricanes, Ducks and Maple Leafs had a deal in the works:

Trade call pending, per sources:

To #Leafs: Ilya Lyubushkin (75% retained)
To #NHLDucks: 3rd Rd Pick
To #Canes: 6th Rd Pick

They right-handed shot and was a physical Defenseman; Lyubushkin could likely have been on the Canucks' radars heading into the deadline. The market for right-handed d-men keeps decreasing by the day, Chris Tanev was moved last night, and now another piece could be off the board.
