SIGNING ALERT | Canucks lose a defenseman to the Arizona Coyotes
The Canucks opted out of their rights to retain his services when they failed to issue him a qualifying offer. He's now signed a new deal in Arizona.
Travis Dermott was acquired by the Canucks a little over a year ago in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He failed to leave his mark on the Canucks' organization as they eventually decided not to retain his rights as he was meant to be a restricted free agent.
The announcement just came in that Dermott has agreed on a one-year two-way deal with the Arizona Coyotes:
Dermott was limited 28 games in a Canucks' jersey since injuries had the best of him during the 2022-2023 season.
