It has been a tough on the injury front for the Carolina Hurricanes goalies as starter Frederik Anderson is watching from the press box after undergoing season ending knee surgery.
Fortunately for the Hurricanes, Pyotr Kochetkov has always been able to step in and play some great hockey in goal for the Canes.
He was tasked to play against the Columbus Blue Jackets last night (Nov 23rd), but the night turned sour in more way's than one.
Pyotr Kochetkov had a rough evening as the 25-year-old Russian goalie allowed 4 goals, making 27 saves on 31 shots before the incent in overtime.
In overtime, As Blue Jackets d-man Zack Werenski came in on net, Canes counterpart Sean walker accidently ran into his own goalie resulting in a scary scene on the ice.
The injury appeared to be serious as Kochetkov was on the ice motionless while medical staff attended to him.
Fortunately he was able to skate off on his own.
There still has been no injury update on his condition, but it appears the Canes will be without their 2 goalies for the time being.
