LATEST | Capitals big forward an interesting target for the Canucks: Trade Proposal emerges
The Canucks have already made two trades this season, including a considerable move to bring in Elias Lindholm. They've given up a lot already, but Rutherford and Allvin still want to improve the team.
One proposal emerged on Monday that would bring two players from Washington to the Canucks.
Canucks Insider Rick Dhaliwal took note of the proposal, and while he didn't comment on the value of Joel Edmundson, Anthony Mantha caught his attention.
A 29-year-old pending UFA, Anthony Mantha, has sometimes been a source of frustration for both Washington and Detroit fans.
He is a vast, extremely skilled winger, but fans have accused him of not putting in the effort required to make a difference.
This season, however, he's played some of his best hockey since coming to Washington, with 18 goals and 29 points in 52 games.
He represents an exciting option, adding size and skill to the Canucks lineup, and wouldn't cost nearly as much in a trade as he did three years ago.
Not to mention, he recently beat up one of the league's most enormous rats.
