LATEST | Former Canucks' contract terminated moments after being traded
The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed Karel Plasek on waivers for purposes of contract termination, according to Elliotte Friedman. Plasek was traded by the Canucks to the Penguins yesterday, along with Jack Rathbone.
The 23-year-old Plasek played in 8 games with the Abbotsford Canucks, failing to register a point. Plasek was brought in to be a gritty penalty-killing bottom-six player.
The right winger previously played on the HC Brno Kometa of the Czech league. He would put up 22 points in 111 games with the team. The Canucks drafted Plasek in the 6th round, 175th overall.
The Penguins ultimately decided to terminate the 5'11 forward. We will see what is next for both the Penguins and Plasek.
