LATEST | Allvin to trade with another division rival: Experienced right handed defenseman being shopped?
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin done a great job at improving the roster, especially on the blue line, including the recent acquisition of Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames.
While the Canucks are tight to the cap, and appear out of the Ethan Bear sweepstakes, could they move some salary in order to make another addition on the blue line, this time with their rivals the Seattle Kraken?
With the Seattle Kraken taking a bit of a step back this season, winning only eight of their first 28 games this season, the team could look to move some pieces to build for the future around a core of Shane Wright and Matty Beniers.
One name to keep an eye on, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet is right-handed defenceman Adam Larsson, who has one year remaining on his contract beyond this season with a cap hit of $4 million.
"Friedman also suggests that veteran defenseman Adam Larsson of the Seattle Kraken is potentially on the trade radar of a few teams. The Kraken, in search of improved scoring, might entertain offers for Larsson if the right deal emerges. Larsson is highly regarded so the Kraken's openness to a trade remains uncertain." Jim Parsons of The Hockey Writers said.
Larsson, 31, has appeared in all 28 of Seattle's games this season, putting up seven points (one goal, six assists), 16 penalty minutes and is a minus-eight, while averaging 23:49 time on ice per game.
It would be very tricky for Patrik Allvin and the Canucks to pull off a move for Adam Larsson, for many reasons, but should they attempt to trade for the Skelleftea, Sweden? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
