Long-time National Hockey League forward Ryan Reaves has landed on the waiver wire by the Toronto Maple Leafs with just one day to go until the trade deadline.

The NHL's waiver wire was quite busy on Wednesday, which featured a pair of former first round picks, which the Vancouver Canucks struck out on, but Patrik Allvin will have a decision to make on Friday with a few more players.

As teams around the National Hockey League look to create some roster flexibility and figure out where they stand heading into tomorrow, a total a five players have landed on the waiver wire.
The most notable name on waivers today is 38-year-old forward Ryan Reaves, who's in the second year of a three-year contract he signed with the club as a free agent in the summer of 2023.
"#NHL waivers today (March 6): Ryan Reaves (TOR)." Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff said.
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, if Ryan Reaves clears waivers and is assigned to the American Hockey League on Friday, the Toronto Maple Leafs will save $1.15 million that they can use to acquire some help at the deadline.
"The #leafs free up at least $1.15M in cap space ahead of the trade deadline by placing Ryan Reaves on waivers.

That's what they save if he clears and they assign him to the AHL. Should another team put in a claim, which isn't expected, Toronto sheds his entire $1.35M." Johnston said.
Reaves, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba has appeared in 35 games this season for the Toronto Maple Leafs where he's put up two assists, 28 penalty minutes and is a minus-two.
It seems pretty unlikely that Ryan Reaves will be claimed off waivers before 11 am PT on Friday and that he'll be assigned to the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.
Joining Ryan Reaves on the NHL waiver wire on Thursday is Tyler Pitlick, Evan Cormier, Cameron Hevig, as well as former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Riley Stillman.
