A former Vancouver Canucks defenseman believes that Patrik Allvin may stand pat at the trade deadline on Friday despite there being rumors about number of their players.

The Vancouver Canucks continue to search for help on forward with nearly 24 hours remaining until the trade deadline, and have a handful of their own guys that could be on the move, including Brock Boeser and Carson Soucy.
However, one former Canuck thinks that the team might not do anything prior to 12 pm PT tomorrow and could stick with their current roster amid their push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Frank Corrado thinks Vancouver Canucks may stand pat at NHL trade deadline

During an appearance on Sekeres and Price, former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Frank Corrado said that he's bracing for the team to do nothing before the trade deadline.
Corrado thinks that it wouldn't be in their best interest to trade Brock Boeser because the team needs goal scoring and moving on from him would be a big hit to the team offensively and also added that it's unlikely that Patrik Allvin would go out and acquire a rental player this year.
"I think I'm just bracing for them to do nothing. Because if you trade Boeser, okay you recoup an asset, but your team doesn't score and you moved on from a guy that scores. So now you're not any closer, you're not really addressing any of the things that you need to. But we know it's an organization that values that first round of the playoffs, right? Like there's a business element to that as well." Corrado said.

Corrado added, "But I think, yeah I agree with his assessment that they don't deserve a rental. Like you're not going to go out and spend assets to bring in rentals this year. I think when it comes to Boeser, you would have to be getting some kind of young player that you think is kind of popping into your roster, similar to deal that you got with the Rangers, where you got a couple of guys that you think could play. But that's not going to be out there for a rental that may or may not re-sign with the team because his ticket is going to be, you know, $8 million in a lot of term.

I think that's what I'm expecting. Vancouver is just going to sit there and say we're going to try and make the playoffs with who we got and we'll retackle the Boeser thing, you know, whenever we can or if we can agree to it, that's great and if not, then we didn't get an asset and you know, we tried to make the playoffs with who we have."
