Former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Ian Cole will be sticking around in Utah after inking a contract extension with the club on Wednesday night.
To no one's surprise, Utah has been a good fit for Ian Cole and in four months, he was set to become a free agent once again, but General Manager Bill Armstrong put a stop to that possibility yesterday.

Bill Armstrong has been quite busy this week signing pending unrestricted free agents such as Alex Kerfoot,
Olli Maatta and
Karel Vejmelka and it was Ian Cole's turn last night to put pen to paper on a contract extension of his own.
In a post on social media last night, Utah Hockey Club announced that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension, with TSN's Chris Johnston sharing that it's worth $3 million - $2.8 million base salary and a games played bonus of $200,000.
"Ian Cole signs a one-year extension with Utah HC worth $3M.
The comes with $2.8M in base salary and games played bonuses worth another $200,000." Johnston said.
Bill Armstrong commented on the contract extension for Ian Cole, saying that the organization is happy to have him back for another year and that they value the work ethic and leadership he brings both on and off the ice.
"We are thrilled to have Ian back for another season. Ian's championship pedigree, work ethic and leadership on and off the ice are valuable assets to our group, and we're thrilled to have him remain with our organization as we fight for a playoff spot." Armstrong said.
Cole, 36, has appeared in 61 games this season for Utah where he's tallied 13 points (one goal, 12 assists), 53 penalty minutes and is a minus-eight.
