LATEST | An announcement has been made regarding Canucks' HC: Great News for Rick Tocchet
The Vancouver Canucks will be well represented at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto next month.
With Quinn Hughes already being named the Canucks' representative, there could be more coming on Saturday afternoon and evening when the results of the fan vote are revealed.
With the team in the position they are as of Saturday morning, sitting in first place in the Pacific Division, they'll also have a representative off the ice - Head Coach Rick Tocchet.
"Looking at the NHL standings, you can do the math: Rick Bowness (WIN), Peter Laviolette (NYR) & Rick Tocchet (VCR) are three of All-Star coaches. Tomorrow's NJ/FLA and BOS/STL games decide between Paul Maurice and Jim Montgomery. Points percentage determines who goes." Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said.
Tocchet's appearance at All-Star Weekend will mark the first time since 2011 that a Canucks Head Coach wad named to the game, that being Alain Vigneault.
As mentioned, the Canucks could have several others named to the All-Star Game via a fan vote including Elias Pettersson, Thatcher Demko, Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller. Stay tuned later this afternoon and evening for those results!
The Canucks will be back in action this afternoon at 1 p.m. PT/4p.m. ET against the Buffalo Sabres as they look to win their fifth-straight game.
