LATEST | Analyst makes bold prediction on Quinn Hughes: Will he live up to it?
Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes has improved each season since he entered the National Hockey League, and after putting up a career-high 76 points last year, many expect him to top that in 2023-24.
In his most recent article on The Athletic, Pierre LeBrun shared some of his predictions for the 2023-24 NHL season, and he thinks that Quinn Hughes will lead all defencemen in the league in points.
"It begins with Karlsson returning to earth after a ridiculous 101-point 2022-23 season in San Jose. With the games mattering more in Pittsburgh this season, some offence could be sacrificed.
But I also think Hughes, who finished tied for second in D scoring last season with 76 points, will push his totals higher this season. For one, I see the Canucks' 11th-ranked PP from last season ending up top five this year, which will boost Hughes' numbers." LeBrun said.
There's no doubt that Quinn Hughes will have a strong season in 2023-24, and his being motivated by being the team's captain will undoubtedly help his play on both sides of the puck. Hughes wants to win; he's expressed that in recent weeks and the Canucks have aspirations of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season. All those factors combined, look for Quinn Hughes to take his game to the next level and further solidify himself as one of the best defensemen in the entire National Hockey League.
