MAJOR | Insider drops bombshell on Elias Pettersson's future and Canucks willingness to sign him
Elias Pettersson has been the talk of the summer ever since he came out and stated that he wasn't sure he wanted to commit long-term to the current Canucks' management.
THE CANUCKS BIGGEST EVER CONTRACT ON HOLD?
The Swede has definitely been growing into a superstar ever since he joined the Canucks, regardless of the many coaching staff changes he had to go through in his young NHL career. Pettersson was a force in every department of the game last season when he managed 102 points; he's definitely due for a massive raise.
Today, during his popular 32 Thoughts Podcast, Insider Elliotte Friedman dropped a bombshell regarding the Canucks and their willingness to commit to Elias Pettersson:
"Since Pettersson came out and said "I'm not sure yet". I think Canucks have also kinda indicated we aren't sure either because if there's any doubt Pettersson wants to make a commitment, I'm not convinced that they (Canucks) want to make a commitment."
The more we advance in time, the more it's starting to look like the Bo Horvat situation we lived through last year. This begs to wonder whether or not Allvin and Rutherford are truly qualified to handle these sorts of talks.
The team has definitely been taking steps in the right direction in regards to their acquisition, but the way these negotiations have been talked about in the media is worrisome. The Jets just announced extensions for their two biggest stars and nobody knew about it. Meanwhile, everybody here knows something new about these talks.
