LATEST | Canucks announce roster movement: Forward sent down
Patrik Allvin was nearly called a hero when he struck a deal with the Sabres that sent Riley Stillman for the energetic former third rounder forward Josh Bloom.
Stillman has yet to play in the NHL this year, while Bloom is a project in development. He seemed to be a sure thing in Abbotsford, but a lack of production in the early stages of the season; possibly due to Abbotsfords depth. Led to the 20-year-old downgrade to the ECHL.
The Abbotsford Canucks issued the following statement:
'The following transaction has occurred:
Vancouver (NHL) re-assigns LW Josh Bloom from Abbotsford to Kalamazoo (ECHL)''
Bloom came to the AHL after an outstanding season in the OHL where he stood out offensively. He collected 71 points in 68 games, the transition to professional wasn't as smooth as anticipate, as displayed by the lone assist he collected through 14 AHL outings.
There's a long way to go still for the young prospect, but hopes are that he'll regain his offensive touch in the ECHL.
