Lots of people thought that Tocchet wasn't fit to take over the Canucks due to his previous record, his mentality or his coaching style. Tocchet is starting to prove his worth, but what the players are saying about their Head Coach speaks volumes about the impact he has:

«He wants the best for me. He wants me to be more vocal. He wants me to lead the team and be the best version of myself. So he's a guy I can go and talk to. He has no ego.» [...] «I play my best when I'm comfortable. Not stressed. Go out there and do all the things I practice.»

The team's player coming out to speak about his coach says tons about how they feel about each other, and the results speak for themselves.
