A REUNION WITH TANEV; WHAT THE CANUCKS NEED?
The team captain Quinn Hughes is very fond of the veteran Chris Tanev who just happens to be on the market. Hughes went to the upper management recently to let them know how he feels about him and it may push the Canucks' to make a move.
Rick Dhaliwal talked on the subject today and Tanev is an extremely coveted defenceman per his sources, but the veteran as a no-movement clause, that doesn't include Vancouver. As of right now, for salary cap reasons, Allvin is trying to force Anthony Beauvilier or Conor Garland on the Flames, but it's not going to cut it, not even a 2nd Round Pick is good enough to get it done for the Flames:
FLAMES AFTER THE BIG HAUL?
Per Dhaliwal, the Flames are after the big haul and they're looking for a top prospect who can fit into their line-up right now. Something similar to what they did when they move Tyler Toffoli to the Devils. The Insider believes that Nils Hoglander would fall right into what they are looking for.
It's become clear that Tanev won't be re-signing in Calgary since he's already made his intentions clear. A trade is most definitely happening sooner or later as the Flames fall deeper in the league rankings.
