LATEST | Islanders' fan utterly disrespect their former captain after he reached a career milestone live in Long Island
The former Islander John Tavares was back in Long Island, where it all started for him. The current Maple Leafs' captain had the opportunity to capture his 1000th point, and during the game's very last moments, he capitalized.
The Leafs were down by one, and Tavares contributed to the game-tying goal:
While everybody expected Tavares to notch his 1000th, even the Islanders, the fans weren't ready to take the emotional load as they were caught booing their former captain:
Despite the fact that Tavares gave the first nine seasons of his career to the Islanders, they're still clearly mad at him for leaving. Funny enough, he left for Toronto with the purpose of playing more meaning full games and having steeper playoffs runs. The Islanders have made it further in than the Leafs ever since Tavares joined.
