LATEST | NHL issues a statement regarding the Canucks' netminder
After a nearly perfect week in the crease, Vancouver's Thatcher Demko has been named the NHL's second star for the week ending December 17.
Demko went 3-0 last week and had a shutout versus the Panthers, stopping 89 of the 93 shots he faced in those three games.
The 28-year-old has been on his game all season long, boasting a .921 save percentage and being one of the main reasons for the Canucks' early success.
After the week's perfect record for the goaltender, Demko moved into sole possession of the league lead in wins.
The Canucks had points in all 4 of their games last week, improving to 7-2-1 in their previous ten games.
Alongside Demko, Colorado's Nate Mackinnon and New York's Noah Dobson were named first and third stars, respectively.
