This Report Could Be The End of Vancouver Canucks Owner Francesco Aquilini

Tom Gaglardi is a Canadian business executive, and the current owner of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League.

Gaglardi is president of Northland Properties Corporation of Vancouver, British Columbia, which he and his family own. The company operates hotels and restaurants in Canada and employs more than 10,000 people across the country.

Arpan, a litigation lawyer and occasional writer took to X on Wednesday to voice his opinion on why he thinks Canucks fans will be rooting for the BC native during the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Gaglardi first expressed interest in owning an NHL team back in 2004, when he and business partner Ryan Beedie submitted a bid to purchase 50 percent of the Vancouver Canucks from then-owner John McCaw Jr. However, McCaw accepted a competing offer from Francesco Aquilini, a former associate of both Gaglardi and Beedie. Aquilini would go on to gain full ownership of the Canucks in 2006.

Clearly, Canucks fans have something else to say after seeing Arpan's remark on X.

Gaglardi was officially introduced as the new owner of the Dallas Stars on November 18, 2011. His interest in purchasing the team began in 2009, and he spent over a year finalizing the deal, which involved a bankruptcy proceeding.

He is also a member of the ownership group of the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League and, as of 2024, owns the Texas Stars, the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate.
