Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin went out and acquired Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames nearly one month ago and one of the big reasons why was his physical presence.

On Sunday, after Chicago Blackhawks forward Reese Johnson laid a big hit on Elias Pettersson, Zadorov stood up for his teammate and dropped the mitts, which ended with a takedown, but unfortunately for Vancouver, the big defenceman also landed a two minute minor and ten minute misconduct for instigating.

After the game, Elias Pettersson expressed that he was very appreciative of Nikita Zadorov's actions and that everyone in the locker room is playing for each other.

"I appreciate it so much. I don't mind a good hit, but it just shows he's going to back me up no matter what. It shows that you're playing for each other." Pettersson said.

The Canucks were able to walk away with a 4-3 win over Chicago, picking up three of a possible four points over the first two games of their road trip. They'll be back in action on Tuesday night in Nashville against the Predators at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
