LATEST | Patrik Allvin announces the release of eight players from training camp
The Vancouver Canucks continued training camp on Tuesday with on-ice sessions in preparation for Wednesday's game in Edmonton against the Oilers.
In a post on their X account on Tuesday, the Canucks announced their second round of cuts, with seven players being sent to their American Hockey League affiliate in Abbotsford, while one player was released from his amateur tryout contract.
Jermaine Loewen, Chad Nychuk, Jonathan Lemieux, Alex Kannok-Liepert, Marc Gatcomb and Dmitry Zlodeyev were all assigned to AHL Abbotsford. Meanwhile, Karel Plasek, who spent last season in Czechia, has been loaned to the Abbotsford Canucks.
21-year-old centerman Cooper Walker, son of former Canucks forward and staff member Scott Walker, has been released from his amateur tryout contract.
The Vancouver Canucks will return to action on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers, a game which can be seen on Sportsnet 360 and Sportsnet One starting at 6 p.m. PT.
