Ahead of the game, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet spoke to the media and gave some updates on Elias Pettersson, Thatcher Demko, and recently acquired defenceman Mark Friedman.
Tocchet said Elias Pettersson would be in the lineup tonight after missing practice on Wednesday because he was "banged up," but it is good to go against the Lightning.
Thatcher Demko will get the start in net for the Canucks tonight, Tocchet confirmed to the media. Demko left the season opener last week because he wasn't feeling well and didn't play on Saturday, but did return for Tuesday's game, making 40 saves on 42 shots in the loss.
As for defenceman Mark Friedman, who the Canucks traded for on Tuesday and called up from the American Hockey League on Wednesday, he's set to be a game-time decision.
The puck drop for Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning is set for 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET and can be viewed on Sportsnet Pacific in Vancouver.
