LATEST | Former Canucks forward among three placed on waivers
On Thursday, a total of three players were placed on waivers including a former Vancouver Canucks forward.
TSN's Chris Johnston reported that Ottawa Senators forward Zack MacEwen, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jansen Harkins and San Jose Sharks defenceman Radek Simek have all been placed on waivers for October 19th.
"Placed on NHL waivers: Jansen Harkins (PIT), Zack MacEwen (OTT) and Radim Simek (SJ)." Johnston said.
MacEwen, 27, signed with Ottawa this summer and has one assist in two games for the Senators so far this season. The Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island native spent parts of three seasons with the Canucks between 2018-19 and 2020-21 where he had nine points in 55 games.
If any of the three players on Thursday's waiver wire clear on Friday, they'll be assigned to their organization's American Hockey League affiliate.
