MAJOR | NHL issues official statement on league leading scorer Quinn Hughes
Quinn Hughes was once again dominant during the Canucks' win against the Sharks. The captain tallied a goal and an assist and took the lone lead as the league score with 30 points on the season.
ONCE AGAIN AMONGST LEGEND
With a two points performance to his already impressive season debut, the captain added another outstanding feat to his resume and the league issued a statement confirming everything:
Quinn Hughes (8-22-30 in 19 GP) became just the third different defenseman in NHL history to record 30 points in a season in fewer than 20 games alongside Bobby Orr (5x; last: 14 GP in 1974-75) and Al MacInnins (18 GP in 1990-91)
IN CANUCKS HISTORY ONCE MORE
Quinn Hughes recorded his NHL-leading 30th point of the season and required the second-fewest games in @Canucks history to reach the mark behind only Tony Tanti in 1983-84 (17 GP).
Quinn Hughes (1-12) boosted his totals this month to 5-1419, surpassing Paul Reinhart (5-1318 in October 1989) and Dale Tallon (3-1518 in March 1971) for the second-most points by a Canucks defenseman in a calendar month. Dennis Kearns owns the most with 1-2021 in March 1977.
The Canucks are right back on track after an impressive effort to keep the door shut on the Sharks, despite giving up one goal in the third. The Nucks were dominant all the way through.
With 30 points in 19 games, Hughes is on pace for 129 points and a season with a record-high differential. Can he keep it up?
