MAJOR | The Canucks and the NHL make an announcement regarding Elias Pettersson
As the calendar flipped to November, Canucks fans had their attention on the National Hockey League's social media accounts to see if Elias Pettersson would be named one of the stars of the month and after a strong October, he certainly has.
The National Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Canucks forward Elias Pettersson has been named their second star of the month after recording 16 points in nine games in October.
"Petey on the national stage! 🤩
With 16 points in just nine games, Elias Pettersson is the @NHL's Second Star of the Month!" The Canucks said in a post on X.
The 24-year-old capped off the month of October with a hat trick against the Nashville Predators on Halloween and helped the Canucks to a 6-2-1 record to start the 2023-24 season, which has them in second place in the Pacific Division.
Pettersson's contract status is still on the mind of Canucks fans everywhere, hoping that he'll sign a long-term extension with the team. But it's great to see that Elias Pettersson is able to perform well night in, night out without his contract status being a distraction.
Congratulations to Elias Pettersson on this well deserved honour!
