The Canucks' training is very well underway and after a 10-0 nothing blowout in Calgary, it had to be expected that Allvin would be sending players down to Abbotsford and he's done just that. 13 player have been sent down since the beginning of training camp and Rick Tocchet pointed out one player whose efforts just weren't enough.

FROM HERO TO ZERO?

Tocchet had identified Dakota Joshua as a player who had lots of untouched potential, a diamond in the rough per his sayings from last season. Now Tocchet pointed out Joshua has one of the player who simply hadn't given enough since everything had started:

''He's gotta pick it up. I'm not going to get into some of the other factors, but he's gotta try to win a job. The job's not there. There's other guys breathing down that want jobs.''

EVERYBODY WHO'S WATCHED THE CANUCKS AGREES

On Sportsnet650, Satiar Sah and Dan Riccio discussed the forward's input during the team's training and they were definitely in agreement with the Canucks' Head Coach's statement:

"I'll sum it up in one word - he's unserious."

The fact that Tocchet mentioned that a veteran's job is in jeopardy clearly highlights the internal competition within the team, and after the 2022-2023 season this has to be positive.

Joshua joined the Canucks as a free agent last year and he'll be back on free agency at the end of the season. After collecting 23 points in 79 NHL games las t season, he'd been highlighted as the Canucks that could've came into camp and caused a surprise, but clear it hasn't been the case thus far.
