The Canucks are rumoured to be making a change behind the bench - at least at the AHL level.

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal reports that while unverified at this time, he's heard rumblings that Jeremy Colliton has been fired as Head Coach of the Abbotsford Canucks. Dhaliwal said on the Donnie and Dhali podcast that he's received no verification from either Colliton or the team.

If true, the insider said it's a surprise given the performance of the team over the last two years.

It's not like he's got a powerhouse team... and here's the other thing: his top two goaltenders are with the Vancouver Canucks... if Silovs is doing what he's doing in Vancouver, what do you think he would have been doing in Abbotsford?

Both Dhaliwal and his co-host Don Taylor said they were shocked, having not heard a bad word out of Abbotsford before this supposed firing. Taylor suggested that perhaps the issue might be that the Canucks aren't happy with the development of young players in the organization.

When asked about Colliton, Tocchet neither confirmed nor denied the firing.

In two years with Abbotsford, Colliton posted identical 40-25-7 records and was eliminated in the first round of the AHL playoffs each year.
