Canucks media members respond to Luke Gazdic's anti-Canucks rant
For the first time in his hockey career, Luke Gazdic's name dominates headlines.
The Hockey Night in Canada analyst joined the Oilersnation Everyday podcast on Monday and had some harsh words for Canucks fans, and members of Canucks media have spoken out on what they saw as an unprofessional display by the former member of the Oilers.
On the Donnie and Dhali podcast, Don Taylor said he doesn't know if he can take Gazdic seriously anymore as a national broadcaster after he revealed his bias towards the Oilers so clearly.
Taylor said that while sometimes online comments from fans cross the line, he's surprised Gazdic has let it get under his skin.
Have you not learned that this comes with the business? You can't be that thin-skinned... you can't get emotional like that; I think he's in danger of losing his job!
The Sekeres and Price show also questioned if Gazdic should remain on the panel as such an "Oilers fanboy," and Matt Sekeres said part of the job as a national broadcaster is remaining unbiased.
If you're privileged enough to get a seat on that panel and talk to a cross-country constituency, you should probably not take sides.
Gazdic taunted Canucks fans, saying he hopes they enjoy watching him on the panel while the Oilers fight for the Stanley Cup - but we'll see what the bosses at Sportsnet have to say about that.
