Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks might not be done in acquiring players as the former 4th overall pick Jesse Puljujarvi has been made available by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Ever since the Vancouver Canucks traded away J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, general manager Patrik Allvin has been busy trying to make upgrades that get them read for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The latest of which came when the team announced they traded veteran defenseman Mark Friedman to the Nashville predators for future considerations.

Should the Vancouver Canucks claim Jesse Puljujarvi off waivers?

With an already injury riddled season so far for the Vancouver Canucks, you can never have too much depth on your roster, and Patrik Allvin can easily find a spot for a former 4th overall pick.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman announced yesterday that the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed Finnish forward Jesse Puljujarvi on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

After going 4th overall back in 2016, the 26-yeaer-old has never been able to translate his game to the NHL level.
The Canucks have shuffled their lineups more than any team this season and could easily find a spot for him to give him a new opportunity, especially for the fact that he only makes 800K a season.
Their is no risk in taking a shot on him, and if it doesn't work out, then it is no sweat off the Canucks back.

In 26 games for the Penguins this season, he has only accumulated 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points.
His short stint in Wilkes-Barre Scranton saw him post 3 points in 4 games.
With the intent of contract termination, there is a chance that he may go back home to Finland to finish his career, but if the Canucks come calling, he may take one more stab and becoming a everyday NHLer.
