Canucks to make an infrastructure improvement ahead of the playoffs?
The Vancouver Canucks are set to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2020 and will host post-season games at Rogers Arena for the first time in nine years. With that, the Canucks are reportedly exploring options to have outdoor viewing parties for fans to attend.
According to Rob Williams of Daily Hive, the Canucks are in discussions with the City of Vancouver regarding the potential of holding outdoor viewing parties later this month for the Stanley Cup Playoffs whether the games are at home or on the road.
When reached for comment by Daily Hive, the Canucks didn't say much, but when asked back in 2022, the organization said that outdoor viewing parties for fans is something they'd like to do eventually.
"It's something we've talked about internally, and would obviously love to explore it again," a team spokesperson told Daily Hive in 2022. "We were looking at options just prior to the pandemic interrupting the 2019-20 season. I'm sure we will explore it again in a way that is safe, exciting for fans and unique to our Vancouver market."
If the City of Vancouver and Canucks organization are able to work something out for the fans to attend outdoor viewing parties, it will be special for everyone involved as the team is looking to make a deep playoff run and return to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2011.
As of Saturday morning, the Canucks are lined up to face the Nashville Predators, a team they played very well against during the regular season, but they've been hot in the last couple of months, so it could be a closer series than many would think.
If the Canucks are able to host outdoor viewing parties during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, will you attend? Let us know in the poll below!
