Former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller opened up last night about how he felt hearing boos during the U.S. national anthem at the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Amid tariff threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, the American national anthem has been booed a few times at National Hockey League games here in Canada, including Vancouver's game on February 2nd, and many were wondering if it would spill over to the 4 Nations Face-Off.

J.T. Miller shares his thoughts on U.S. anthem being booed at 4 Nations Face-Off

Team USA took to the ice last night for their first game of the 4 Nations Face-Off and despite an early scare in the opening period as they went down 1-0 thanks to Finnish defenseman Henri Jokiharju, the Americans scored six unanswered to take the win.
Prior to puck drop, boos rang out during the American national anthem from those in attendance at the Bell Centre, which can be heard in the video below from Parker McLean of Black N' Gold Productions.
After the game, former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller was asked for his thoughts on the booing and he said that he believes they liked it.
Miller went on to add politics aside, they're playing up here in Canada and know that they're not liked by the crowd, so the booing was understandable from that point of view and that it fired him up.
"I think we like it. Not politically, but just in the sense of we know where we're at, in Canada. I think that fires us up more than anything." Miller said according to Mollie Walker.
However, it doesn't look like there are many others on the U.S. roster that agreed with J.T. Miller, as Matthew Tkachuk making his feelings known post-game.
"I didn't like it. That's all I got." Tkachuk said.
Tomorrow night's matchup between Canada and the United States is going to be an intense, emotional battle and there's no doubt that the Bell Centre will be rocking from the moment warmups begin.
Puck drop for tomorrow's game between Canada and the United States is set for 5 pm PT (8 pm local) on Sportsnet.
