The Vancouver Canucks are now moments away from the start of their 2024 triant camp start.

The team had already confirmed that starting netminder Thatcher Demko would not be ready for the start of training camp.

We learned last night that terrible news had struck the Canucks forward Dakota Joshua but Patrik Allvin added two other players to the injury list.

Allvin added Cole McWard and Teddy Blueger to the team's injury list, and the Canucks will start the team's camp four players short.

To palliate these injuries, the Canucks have brought Samuel Blais and Dylan Ferguson on professional tryouts; with Dakota Joshua on the sidelines for the next little while, a spot is now wide open for Blais to slide into Rick Tocchet's forward group.

Ferguson will be in Vancouver only to relieve Arturs Silovs, Jiri Patera, and Nikita Tolopilo of the hefty workload that awaits them until Demko gets the green light from the team's doctors. Still, given the minimal NHL experience these three share, the Vancouver native could come in and cause a surprise.

The Canucks' training camp is bound to start on the 19th, and they'll be holding an intra-squad scrimmage on the 22nd.
