While on Sekeres and Price recently, NHL insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff had some high praise for Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes.

On the show, Sekeres and Price, along with Seravalli, were discussing the race for the Norris Trophy, which is handed out annually to the league's best defenceman during the season.

There are a number of defenceman who deserve to be in the conversation this season, but it's going to come down to two names - Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche and Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks.

Seravalli said that it's going to be a tight vote and that he's torn on who he plans to vote for, but did have some high praise for Quinn Hughes, calling him the best passer in the entire National Hockey League.

"I'm really torn...I hope I can properly analyze the D-zone impact of both of them...who's the better defender? Quinn Hughes is arguably the best passer in the NHL." Seravalli said.

Hughes, 24, is having the best season of his young National Hockey League career so far and definitely deserves to be one of the three nominees for the Norris Trophy at the end of the season. Coming into Saturday's action, Hughes has put up 86 points (16 goals, 70 assists), 38 penalty minutes and is a plus-39.

It's certainly going to be very close for the Norris Trophy with Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar likely to finish 1-2 in voting, along with Islanders' Noah Dobson, Tampa Bay's Victor Hedman, among others that'll be in the mix for finishing third.
