There are going to be a lot of challenges for the Vancouver Canucks in this series, especially with facing two of hockey's best players - Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Former Vancouver Canucks forward Maxim Lapierre was a guest on Sekeres and Price recently and was asked who he thinks Rick Tocchet should play against Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in a shutdown role. Lapierre said that the perfect player to have up against those two stars is Elias Lindholm, who is very familiar with McDavid and Draisaitl from his time in the Battle of Alberta.
Regardless of who Tocchet decides to put in that role to shutdown the lethal Oilers duo, they're in for a tough test as both of them had a fantastic first round series against the Los Angeles Kings. In five games, McDavid put up 12 points and Draisaitl had ten.
It's still unclear when the Canucks' series against the Edmonton Oilers will begin, as the NHL is still awaiting the results of the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights series. The Stars have some arena conflicts coming up, so if they are to advance tonight, their series against Colorado could be pushed back by a couple of days. However, the expectation is Round 2 for the Canucks will begin on Tuesday night at Rogers Arena, with official confirmation coming late tonight.
