LATEST | Patrik Allvin announces roster movement
Over the last few days, there has been tons of roster movement in the NHL. Patrik Allvin dangled his roster with many call-ups and sent them down, most of them for logistics reasons.
Today, the team's GM announced that the Canucks' 2019 First Round Selection, Vasily Podkolzin, had been called up after he was sent down yesterday:
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Vasily Podkolzin has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).
Podkolzin was sent down yesterday to provide the team with some cap room if the opportunity to make a deal presents itself. He was also sent down to make him eligible for the AHL's Calder Cup Playoffs.
Through 44 AHL games this season, he's managed 28 points. He's added none in the NHL over three games. He's currently playing the last season of a three-year entry-level contract.
Ever since he got back up from the AHL, Podkolzin has shown great things, and it may be time the Canucks' consider giving him a top-six opportunity. Just like they did with Arshdeep Bains when he was called up.
