Some say the best trades we make are the ones that never see the end line. Numerous teams were on the market for goaltenders, and many high-end goaltenders were available.

The latest Vézina winner, Linus Ullmark, is now the most susceptible netminder to leave Boston as Jeremy Swayman takes the poll spot. The Kings, on their end of things, 're heavily shopping to add a top-end goaltender ever since Cam Talbot's performances have started degrading.

With elevated hopes heading into this year's playoff, many reports concluded that Linus Ullmark was on his way to L.A. for an undisclosed return, but the deal ultimately fell through:

The Bruins almost completed a trade to send Linus Ullmark to the Kings, per @frank_seravalli

The deal fell through, so goalie hugs are here to STAY in Boston 🫂

According to the ongoing speculation, it's Ullmark himself who rejected the trade to L.A. The 30-year-old veteran 16 Teams no-trade-list to his contract, and it appears the Kings were among those 16.

Fascinating day for #NHLBruins, it sounds like they had a deal on the table to move G Linus Ullmark to #LAKings that didn't end up crossing the finish line.

Viewed as one of the Western Conference's top defensive teams had added a Vezina Trophy to their already strong core, it would've made them an even more significant threat to the Canucks.

The Golden Knights and the Avalanche took massive steps at the deadline; it'll be exciting to see how things develop as we head into this season's final games.
