LATEST | Rick Tocchet addresses Nikita Zadorov's griddy celebration
Nikita Zadorov was at the center of attention on Thursday night, a place his personality and physical play find him frequently.
Since coming to Vancouver from Calgary, the big Russian has been a solid fit for the Canucks blueline, yet recently his name has appeared in trade rumours.
His head coach Rick Tocchet said there's no truth to that talk, and the team is happy to have Big Z.
I think he adds a lot to our team, not only on the ice but off the ice. But the noise factor, it happens all the time, right? It's just part of this market, and I don't think it fazes him.
In particular Tocchet commended Zadorov's game on Thursday night.
Zadorov scored his first as a Canuck; and said that while he was prepared to answer the bell for his previous hit on Lucas Raymond that resulted in a 2 game suspension, the call never came.
The defenceman is always ready to stick up for his teammates, and it's earned their respect.
