MAJOR | Canucks make a huge announcement on Elias Pettersson
Elias Pettersson recently signed a massive, eight-year contract extension after much anticipation and doubt regarding his future in Vancouver. Fortunately, a deal was able to be made, and he became one of the league's highest-paid players.
His production certainly reflects his hefty contract, as he currently ranks 11th in the NHL and 2nd on the Canucks with 77 points in just 65 games. This pace puts him just shy of a second consecutive 100-point season.
He recorded a sole assist in the Canucks' 3-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, which marked his 400th career point in just his 390th career game. Impressively, he becomes the second-fastest player in team history to reach the mark behind Pavel Bure, who reached it in 360 games.
If he finishes the season strong, the former Calder Trophy winner could very well score 100 points once again.
