While most NHL players are either heading to Montreal to participate in the Four Nations Faceoff or taking a vacation during the two week break, some may find themselves returning to new homes when the NHL season resumes.

The Vancouver Canucks have already been busy on the trade front, most recently giving away Mark Friedman to the Nashville Predators, but they could look to remain active throughout the upcoming Four Nations break.

Insider says players are on high alert during Four Nations

On Monday's episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman says that entering the nearly two week break for Four Nations, he could see a lot of activity taking place.
Friedman says one unnamed player, a pending free agent who isn't playing in the tournament, said he expects he'll be moved during the tournament.
The insider said a number of players are expecting trade activity during the break.
I guess some players have been told - I don't know by their teams or their agents... they think there's going to be action... there certainly is that feeling around there that some players won't return to where they are.

With no trade restrictions during the tournament, we could see a flurry of moves in the next two weeks.
Vancouver Canucks not done dealing?
While the biggest move for Vancouver -trading J.T Miller- is likely behind them, Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin are still motivated to make moves, and one player that is certainly available is Carson Soucy.
Soucy is in the second year of a 3 year deal worth $3.25 million per season and has recently fallen down the depth chart in Vancouver, and the team is reportedly looking to find a new home for him.
With the emergence of Elias Pettersson and the acquisition of Marcus Pettersson, the left side of Vancouver's defense has become a crowded place.
