The National Hockey League has released a statement featuring Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko.

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko had a solid 2023-24 campaign, but towards the end of the year and in the playoffs, injuries caught up to him and ultimately forced his season to come to a close.

Demko set new career highs in wins, shutouts, goals against average and shutouts during the 2023-24 season and his strong play earned him a nomination as one of the three finalists for the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's best goaltender. Demko finished second in voting for the Vezina Trophy behind Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck, but will certainly be in the mix once again next year.

Throughout the off-season so far, the National Hockey League has been taking a look back at the 2023-24 campaign and some of the more interesting statistics from the year. On Monday morning, the NHL shared a post on social media that featured Thatcher Demko and the top-ten goaltenders with the highest save percentage against high danger shots.

Last season, Demko had a save percentage of .845 on high danger shots which was good for second place in the entire National Hockey League. As for first place, a former Canucks netminder was locked in what faced with high danger shots.

Jacob Markstrom, now with the New Jersey Devils, was with Calgary last season and led the National Hockey League in save percentage on high danger shots with .857.

With roughly seven weeks to go until training camps begin, Vancouver Canucks fans are excited to see what Thatcher Demko has in store during the 2024-25 season and hope that he'll be ready to go once the puck drops in October.
