Quinn Hughes' agent Pat Brisson comments on decision to pull out of 4 Nations Face-Off
In an interview with Iain MacIntyre of Sportsnet, Quinn Hughes' agent Pat Brisson opened up about his client's decision to pull out of the 4 Nations Face-Off due to an injury.
Brisson said that it was a very difficult decision for Hughes, but with the responsibility as captain of the Vancouver Canucks, he felt like it was the right call in order to get back to 100 percent health for his club.
"It's not in his DNA to back out of anything. It was so hard for him to make that decision... but he just feels responsible as captain of the Canucks to be the best he can be for his team. His level of maturity is unmatched for a 25 yo." Brisson said.
The 4 Nations Face-Off was going to give Quinn Hughes an opportunity to play with his brother Jack of the New Jersey Devils, so that made his decision even more difficult.
However, the brothers will have another chance to play on the same team in exactly one year as NHLers are expected to be at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
As Pat Brisson mentions, this decision Quinn Hughes has made shows his level of maturity and while he would like a chance to play at best-on-best with the United States, he has a bigger task at hand in Vancouver - getting to the playoffs and winning the Stanley Cup.
