Washington Capitals prospect Cam Allen has been charged by police in London, Ontario early on Sunday morning and a statement has been released.

Cam Allen is one of the Washington Capitals' top defensive prospects and after dealing with injuries during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, signed his entry-level contract with the NHL club during the summer.

Allen, who was traded to the London Knights by the Guelph Storm in the Ontario Hockey League just before Christmas, was arrested by London Police after 3 am ET on Sunday morning.
London Police say that they received a 911 call from a citizen who reported a single vehicle collision on Sunday morning and when arriving on the scene, the driver was nowhere to be found.
Police eventually found Cam Allen at a house nearby the site of the accident, arrested him and charged him with five offenses including impaired operation of a vehicle.
"A London man was arrested yesterday morning after members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to a running unoccupied vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a collision in the south end of the city.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., a citizen called 911 in relation to a single vehicle collision in the area of Colonel Talbot Road near Clayton Walk. Police were advised what appeared to be blood had been located on the driver's side door and leading away from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Cameron Allen, 20, of London, is charged with the following offences:

Impaired operation of a conveyance;
Impaired operation exceed blood alcohol concentration;
Fail to remain;
Fail to report accident; and,
Novice driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero." London Police said in a statement

London Police went on to share that Cam Allen has been released from custody and will be back in court on Thursday, March 6th.
As of 8 pm ET (5 pm PT) on Sunday evening, there has yet to be any comment from the London Knights, Ontario Hockey League or the Washington Capitals.
