Roster Moves: Patrik Allvin Announces the Departure of 3 Vancouver Canucks Forwards Today
With the Vancouver Canucks now on their 1-week holiday break, Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin has announced that 3 forwards will be sent down to the AHL Abbotsford Canucks.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that forwards Linus Karlsson, Phil Di Giuseppe, and Max Sasson have been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL). The reason for their departure down to the AHL is similar as what has been going on all season long for the Canucks, where Patrik Allvin is using this as an opportunity to accrue cap space, that will very much benefit the team come the trade deadline.
Because Karlsson, Sasson and Di Giuseppe were all called up after December 11th, the trio are all eligible to be sent down even though there is the current NHL roster freeze.
The move benefits the Canucks greatly as it increases their cap space to $2.67 million.
In 12 games for Max Sasson, who has greatly impressed with his intangibles, has scored 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points.
Di Giuseppe has only appeared in 3 games for the Canucks this season despite playing in 51 games in 2023-2024. He has been able to rack of 2 assists.
