Despite Wednesday's overtime loss to the Arizona Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes can keep his head held high for the effort he put in.

During the loss last night, Quinn Hughes recorded three assists and three shots to reach the 90-point mark for the first time in his National Hockey League career.

According to Sportsnet Stats, Hughes sits fifth in the NHL since 2019-20 with most games with three or more assists at 21. Meanwhile, the four names ahead of him are all forwards - Connor McDavid, Artemi Panarin, Leon Draisaitl and Nikita Kucherov.

"#Canucks Quinn Hughes recorded his 21st career game with 3+ assists. Only 4 players have more such games since 2019-20 and they are all forwards:

McDavid - 34
Panarin - 26
Draisaitl - 24
Kucherov - 24
Q. Hughes - 21"

Hughes also made a bit of NHL history on Wednesday night too. The Canucks captain passed Paul Coffey and jumped into second for most three-assists games in a defenceman's first 362 career games with 21. Bobby Orr currently hold the record at 25 games.

"Most 3-Assist Games in First 362 Career Games Among Defencemen in #NHL History:

Bobby Orr - 25
Quinn Hughes - 21
Paul Coffey - 20
Brian Leetch - 17"

The 24-year-old sits nine points away from his first 100-point season and it may be tough to reach that mark, given the Canucks only have three games remaining in the regular season. However, 95 points is certainly a reachable target to finish the season with.

Hughes and the Canucks will return to action on Saturday for the final Hockey Night in Canada of the 2023-24 regular season as they take on the Edmonton Oilers. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
