Thatcher Demko has been sidelined since suffering an injury during a victory against the Los Angeles Kings on March 9. In his absence, Goaltenders Casey DeSmith and Arturs Silovs have been holding down the fort.

However, with the playoffs approaching and the Edmonton Oilers in hot pursuit of the Pacific Division title, Demko may return to action during the final stretch of the regular season.

The Canucks will play Edmonton on Saturday, Calgary on Tuesday, and Winnipeg on Thursday to wrap up their regular season. According to Rick Dhaliwal, there is a possibility that fans will see Demko suit up in one of the Canadian matchups:

He still hasn't had a full practice with the team.

I was always told there was no rush; he's got to be 100% for the playoffs.

He also believes that the goaltender's target for return was indeed the final two regular season gamesmeaning this excludes Saturday's contest against Edmonton. However, with the tight divisional race, it is possible, though Dhaliwhal expresses his doubts because the team does not want to rush Demko back into action.

However, Edmonton trails Vancouver by four points with two games in hand.
