Ethan Bear indefinitely leaving the Washington Capitals
The former Canucks Ethan Bear chose to sign with the Washington Capitals when he returned from his injury. Ever since he joined Ovechkin and his troops, he's done well on the ice, according to analysts covering the team.
Unfortunately, the defenseman will have to step away from the game for the next little while since it has been announced that Bear will receive care from the Player Assistance Program of the NHLPA. For evident reasons, the circumstances of his leave of absence from the team have not been disclosed:
The National Hockey League Players' Association and National Hockey League announced today that defenseman Ethan Bear of the Washington Capitals will be unavailable to his Club for an indefinite period while he receives care from the Player Assistance Program of the NHLPA and NHL.
Under the terms of the joint program, he will return to the Club when cleared for on-ice competition by the program administrators.
We're hopeful that Bear will receive the care he needs and promptly return to the ice. Get well soon!
