Trade Interest for Vancouver Canucks Defenseman Carson Soucy is Heating Up Big Time

In early February, a report came out that said Vancouver Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy has been placed on the trade block and could be moved ahead of the deadline on Friday.

Since that report, Soucy has been linked to a few team around the league including the Calgary Flames and the Western Conference leading Winnipeg Jets.

With nearly 24 hours to go until the trade deadline, action will pick up very quickly and for the first time in many years, it looks like deadline day could be quite busy and Patrik Allvin could be involved heavily, with a number of his players that may potentially be on the move.

In a post on X on Thursday, TSN insider Darren Dreger shared that interest around the league is growing around Vancouver Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy.

Dreger added that Soucy has trade protection, including a full no-trade clause this season, and while it may not be at the point where he's going to waive it, there are "a lot" of teams calling Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin.

Soucy, 30, is in his second season with the Vancouver Canucks after signing a three-year deal back in the summer of 2023 worth $3.25 million annually.

In 59 games this year for the Canucks, the Viking, Alberta native has put up ten points (three goals, seven assists), 42 penalty minutes and is a minus-13.

We'll have to wait and see where things go on the Carson Soucy front, but don't be surprised if he's dealt by Patrik Allvin within the next 24 hours, which would open up a roster spot for someone like Victor Mancini.
