The Vancouver Canucks are set to play their final game before the 4 Nations Face-Off break and Rick Tocchet has given an update on Quinn Hughes' status.

Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes hasn't played since last Friday's game in Dallas against the Stars after suffering what was revealed by David Quadrelli of Canucks Army as an oblique injury and we now know if the 25-year-old will suit up tonight.

Vancouver opted not to hold a morning skate today at Rogers Arena, which meant that head coach Rick Tocchet wasn't going to speak the media for a few hours before puck drop.
When meeting with reporters, Rick Tocchet said that Quinn Hughes will not play tonight for the Canucks as they host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"Rick Tocchet says Quinn Hughes will not play tonight vs TOR" Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said.
Tonight's game will mark the fourth straight that Quinn Hughes has missed, with the Vancouver Canucks having a record of 2-0-1 since he suffered his injury last week.
As for Quinn Hughes' status for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off where he's set to represent the United States, a decision hasn't been made if he'll be going, Tocchet told the media today.
Team USA General Manager Bill Guerin was asked by reporters today if Quinn Hughes will be able to play in the tournament and he said that it wouldn't be fair for him to comment at this time, while acknowledging that the Vancouver Canucks captain is going through something right now.
"I don't think it would be fair for me to comment. ... He's going through something right now. I really don't feel comfortable commenting on that." Guerin said.
Hughes, a native of Orlando, Florida, has appeared in 47 games for the Canucks this season where he's registered 59 points (14 goals, 45 assists), 27 penalty minutes and is a plus-15.
Puck drop for tonight's game, sans Quinn Hughes, is set for 4 pm PT and can be viewed across Canada on Sportsnet and CBC.
