The Vancouver Canucks' homestand continued on Thursday night at Rogers Arena as the team welcomed the 2024 Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers to town.

It was a big night for Vancouver as forward J.T. Miller returned to the lineup for the first time since taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.

Miller addressed the media yesterday afternoon, saying that he didn't want to talk about his reason for leaving and wanted to focus on being back playing hockey with his teammates.

"I'm playing tonight, and I really would appreciate if we just stayed away from the reasons why I wasn't here... you can ask all you want but I'm not going to dive into the reasons why I wasn't here the last 3, 4 weeks. I'm here with the team, and I'm ready to look forward to what's happening in the future." Miller said.

J.T. Miller picked up where he left off, registering two assists last night as the Vancouver Canucks shut out the Florida Panthers by a score of 4-0.

After the game, members of the Vancouver Canucks spoke about J.T. Miller's return and what he means to the team.

"He brings a big lift to our team,» said forward Brock Boeser. "Makes our team a lot deeper when he's in the lineup. He's a leader on this team and it was awesome to get him back."

Boeser added, "He's such an elite player and he shows what he can do night in and night out."

Rick Tocchet also commented on J.T. Miller's first game action in nearly a month, praising how well he played against Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov.

"He's one of the best players in the league," said head coach Rick Tocchet. "He's a big part of our team. That's hard to do, not play for a month and come in there and do what he did."

He added, "I thought he did a good job against Barkov. He's a big guy in the middle, it's tough to go around him."

The Vancouver Canucks will return to the ice on Saturday night as they welcome Nikita Zadorov and the Boston Bruins to town for a 7 pm PT puck drop on Hockey Night in Canada.
