There are just a handful of defenseman in the NHL right now that have the ability to effect and have the same kind of impact Quinn Hughes has with the Vancouver Canucks, as he solidified it last season by winning the Norris Trophy.
Captain Quinn Hughes is not slowing down one bit as he now has 32 points in 26 games and has become only the 4th player since the start of the 2023-24 season to reach 100 assists.
Quinn Hughes in the running for not just the Norris Trophy, but also the Hart
With Quinn Highes' great start to the season, he is once again a league favorite to be in the running to win the Norris, but the conversation should be does he have a chance at winning the Hart.
What is the Hart Trophy?
"The Hart Memorial Trophy is an annual award given to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team."
It is no question that being a defenseman an in the NHL decreases your chances big time at winning the Hart. Blue liners are often overlooked due to the sheer offensive numbers they can generate compared to forwards.
But, the award is given to the players who makes the biggest impact on "HIS" team, not in general, and by that explanation, Hughes deserves to be in the conversation for the MVP.
